ZTE has launched their 2nd generation under-display camera-wielding smartphone, the Axon 30 5G, after a very successful run with the Axon 20 5G last year. The smartphone has a proper bezel-less display without any clutter on the screen. There are no punch holes, no notches, and the front side is pure display and nothing else. ZTE claims the phone to be revolutionary and genuinely fullscreen. However, the phone has only launched in China and comes in two color options Black and Green. ZTE has also confirmed that the Axon 30 5G will be available to global markets soon. In addition, the phone also carries a quad-camera setup and a ground-breaking under-display front selfie camera. And for its processor, it comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC chipset.
ZTE Axon 30 5G specifications:
The ZTE Axon 30 5G comes with a truly full screen 6.92-inch FHD+ AMOLED Display, supporting a whopping refresh rate of 120Hz, making it an excellent choice for gaming, especially accompanied by the Snapdragon 870 SoC. According to ZTE, the smartphone’s display comes with seven layers of transparent materials and is eye-protection certified. The battery capacity of the phone is decently sized at 4200mAh and supports 55W fast-charging.
The storage options of the smartphone include four variants, which are 6GB RAM plus 128GB storage, an 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage, an 8GB RAM plus 256GB storage, and the most premium variant of the Axon 30 5G, namely the 12GB RAM plus 256GB storage variant. The Axon 30 5G also comes with memory fusion technology that utilizes the phone storage as RAM to increase the RAM capacity by 5GB.
The Axon 30 5G comes with a quadruple-camera setup, consisting of a 64MP primary sensor that can go up to f/1.79 aperture, making it suitable for heavy focus photography. The other three rear cameras include an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 120 FoV, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone’s front camera includes the revolutionary under-display camera, which gives the phone a very futuristic look. Additionally, it carries a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls.
In other features, the phone comes with 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, and a triple ice cooling system that houses a liquid cooling plate, making the phone highly durable under heavy usage.
Price and Availability:
The smartphone is priced according to the different storage variants, CNY 2,198 (Rs. 25,000) for the 6GB RAM variant, CNY 2,498 (Rs. 28,500) for the 8GB RAM plus 128GB variant, CNY 2,798 (Rs. 32,000) for the 8GB RAM plus 256GB variant, and lastly the 12GB RAM variant which is priced at CNY 3,098 (Rs. 35,400). The pricing of the phone puts it somewhere in the mid-range category of smartphones. However, it delivers a smartphone that is much more close to a premium smartphone for the price it charges.
Soon, the Axon 30 5G will be available to the global markets. Until then, the ZTE Axon 30 5G sales are exclusive to the ZTE Mall in China. Fortunately, for people living outside China, the Axon 30 5G will be available for you, but there has been no official date for the global launch. So stay tuned!
