Black Shark has released a new flagship gaming smartphone “Black Shark 3S” today, 31st July. The company has launched the Black Shark 3 phone recently, the new Black Shark 3S is a successor to it.
This phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset unlike the recently launched gaming smartphones that has 865 Plus chipset in them. Compared with the Black Shark 3 the major difference is only the screen refresh rate. It has gone up to 120Hz from 90Hz. The phone is 10.4 mm thick and weighs around 222 grams.
It features a 6.67” Full HD+ (2400×1080 pi) AMOLED display with a 20:9 body to screen ratio with a support for the DCI-P3 color gamut and MEMC motion compensation technology. It is also certified to support the HDR 10+ playback. It also supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6 technology and has a Bluetooth 5.0.
Let’s take a little more look at the features. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 650 inside it paired with 12GB RAM and upto 512GB UFS 3.1 storage options to choose from. The Black Shark 3S has Android 10 OS with JoyUI 12 on it .
Black Shark 3S offers an in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers which are loud enough. It has a triple camera setup on the rear: There is a primary 64MP camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120 degree field of view and a 5MP depth sensor. The rear cameras can record in 4K 60fps UHD resolution videos. On the front, there’s a 20MP selfie camera which takes a bit of the screen bezels .
Coming to the power, it has a 4720mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging out-of-the-box. The charging speeds are going to be pretty high. The company claims the phone can go from 0-100% in 38 minutes tops. Moreover, the phone can also be charged via a magnetic charging adapter that connects to the back of the phone.
The phone is currently available only in China. We might have to wait for the company to announce about it’s release in India and other regions.
There are two colors available on the phone : Sky Cloud Black and Crystal Blue. Black Shark 3S is priced starting at CNY 3999 (roughly Rs 42,800) for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 128GB storage, CNY 4299 (roughly Rs 46,000) for the 256GB storage variant and CNY 4799 (roughly Rs 51,400) for the 512GB storage variant.
