Xiaomi reveals Redmi Note 8 2021 design

Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it will launch a new variant namely Redmi Note 8 2021 of Redmi Note 8 which was launched two years ago and has sold over 25 million units globally as per the information given by the official Twitter handle of the brand. The company has further labelled its upcoming smartphone as ‘The Performance All Star’ in its tweet. So far, the company hasn’t revealed any information regarding the launch date. Few reports have revealed that Redmi Note 8 2021 will be launched only in specific regions of the world some of them being Russia and European Economic Area (EEA). It is quite clear that the smartphone will not be launched in India as of now.

Regarding the specifications of the smartphone, the company has revealed few features of the mobile in a tweet today. “Coming soon with a 48MP quad camera and a 6.3″ dot drop display, the Redmi Note 8 2021 is ‘The Performance All Star’ that more than meets all of your everyday needs”, the brand wrote.

According to various reports the phone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM. It will feature a full-HD + 6.3″ dot drop display with a 60Hz display refresh rate but reports also mention that there could also be a different variant that could come with a higher refresh rate of 120Hz. It will run on MIUI 12+ software and will house a 4000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging.

The Redmi Note 8 2021 will feature a 48MP quad camera at the rear which would include four camera sensors – a 48-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, a depth sensor and a tele-macro sensor. The smartphone is expected to come with two different internal storage variants – 64GB and 128GB but there is no clarity on whether the smartphone will feature an expandable storage option. As far as connectivity is concerned, the smartphone will support Bluetooth v5.2.
