Xiaomi launches Mi TV Webcam with 1080p video calling support at Rs. 1,999

Today, Xiaomi launched its new product Mi TV webcam in India. This webcam will allow users to make video calls using their Smart TVs. Users will also be able to connect the webcam to a variety of other Android-based smart TVs other than Mi Tv and Redmi TV models as the camera has a 1.5m long removable USB Type-C port.

The gadget is simple to set up and use with its adjustable magnetic base that allows users to easily connect the webcam to any metal surface of the television.

In terms of video quality, a 2MP camera lens that supports up to 1080p (Full HD) video at 25 framers per second has been included in Xiaomi’s new gadget. This TV webcam features a 71-degree FOV (Field of view), which allows the camera to take wide-angle shots easily. When not in use, the webcam will be covered with an in-built shutter which is added to it for privacy reasons. The developers have also included an LED indicator that will indicate that the camera is on.

Google Duo can be used while making calls with this Xiaomi webcam, this gadget also features dual stereo microphones. As per company claims it can even catch audio from a distance of 4 meters away. To minimize the picture grain, a 3D image noise reduction technique is included in the gadget by its creators.

The Mi TV Webcam has a metallic body that weighs 45.6 grams and it measures 80x35x67mm in dimension. This Xiaomi gadget will be available from June 28, 2021, i.e. from Monday, on the official websites of Xiaomi (Mi.com, Mi Home, and Mi Studio). The firm is selling the Mi TV webcam at a price of Rs. 1,999 ($27).
