Facebook-owned company is currently developing a way to help iOS users transfer their chat histories to Android without any issues. This can prove very helpful to iOS users as transitioning to an Android device can become much more manageable. As currently, there is no way iOS users can transfer their chat backups to Android devices. According to the screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, the iOS version of WhatsApp will get an option labeled as ‘Move chats to Android,’ with the help of which the iOS user can transfer their chat history to their new Android device. Now iOS users would not need to worry about losing their chats on the old device and would be able to access them on their new Android.
Currently, WABetaInfo is only aware of the iOS to Android feature, and it works exactly like the Android to iOS chat history transfer feature. WABetaInfo officially shared the screenshots on their Twitter account and stated that the feature is still under development and will be available soon in a future update.
XDA developers also spotted traces of the ‘Switch to Android’ feature from the APK teardown of WhatsApp. The chat migration tool would help many users and smoothen the transitioning of iOS users to Android. WhatsApp recently has been working on a lot of features that are improving user experience. However, these features are still under development mode.
WhatsApp is simultaneously working on Multi-device support that lets users access WhatsApp on different devices without needing one device to access WhatsApp Web. However, with multi-device, a user cannot assign two phones but other laptops or computers.
With the chat migration feature, WhatsApp is on board with Google to bring out new solutions that make transitioning from iOS to Android easier for iOS users. And also help the person transitioning get their respective data safely and without any issues.
The update will be out soon for iOS users. However, there has been no official news from WhatsApp, and many iOS users would be looking forward to this update. But it is official that the feature is under development and will be there to ease out the transitioning process of chats for iOS users soon.
