WhatsApp’s upcoming Multi-Device support feature: Know everything about it

Messaging platform WhatsApp has finally decided to introduce a much required feature – multi-device support. This feature will allow its users to conveniently use the messaging service of this app through multiple devices that they possess. Also, this feature will be handy to all those individuals who have to use multiple devices on a daily basis due to some reason like work requirement etc. and also have to keep in touch with their friends and family members at the same time.

Reports suggest that initially the company is planning to roll out the Beta version only and that too will be limited for use in desktop mode, portal and WhatsApp Web version. Though, the company is expected to roll out this feature later for Android and iOS as well.

Independent portal WABetaInfo has recently share few details regarding this feature on their portal through screenshots which suggest that once the new feature is rolled out, users will be apple to use the messaging platform on desktop mode, WhatsApp Web and the Facebook Portal as well and that too without any hassle of being online on their smartphones as they had to do until now. The portal has also claimed that the company is planning to roll out the feature such that a user can simultaneously connect and use the messaging services of the platform on five different devices.

But there are many speculations that have been raised regarding this feature. Many experts believe that the multi-device support feature will limit some of the facilities or freedom of service to the users who are willing to avail this service in the future. So, let’s take a look at what those limitations are that will affect the users.

One of the limitations is that the users who will use the multi-device feature will not be able to avail the messaging facility to send message to those users who will be running the older version of WhatsApp. Therefore, it is necessary that the user who is expected to receive the message has downloaded the latest version of the application. The other thing being talked about is the availability of log out option on the devices involved.

But it is to be noted that the introduction of this feature is for the better. Even if there are complications and shortcomings as it has been speculated then also the fact that such limitations will be overcome by the company in the future points to the fact that the introduction of the multi-device support feature by WhatsApp was a well-planned and much needed move.
