Also, iPads have the ability to do what your computer cannot, and what’s that? Well, that is obviously multitasking.

iPadOS has come up with this amazing feature where you can open multiple apps at the same time. Not only this, but you can also open split screen in the SAME app, But the disappointment is iPadOS does not help you much if you don’t know how to use this amazing feature to the fullest. Thus, to save your precious time and help you maximize your iOS productivity, we have created this easy guide. Also, you need to remember that not all apps on the iPad support this split-screen feature like some particular movies, games, or TV streaming apps.

Now waiting for what? Let’s have a step by step look and learn how to use the split-screen feature:

Before doing anything, don’t forget to set up your iPad. For this, all you have to follow is – Settings > Home Screen & Dock > Multitasking. The next step you have to do is to toggle on the three controls to Allow Multiple Apps, Picture-in-Picture, and Gestures.

Step 1

The first step is to decide the apps you have to use. After deciding, just line up all the apps in the dock. Also, remember you have to put apps in the dock just for once. If the app you want to use is not in the dock, tap and hold the app and drag it to the dock. Whatever icon you are adding will always go to the left side of the divider. Wondering what will be on the right side? On the right side, you will see the icons of recently used apps. There is another way to do this, you can also quickly launch and close the app in order to place it in the dock.

Step 2

You have to open the primary app first if you want to see its window larger. To open the two apps together, you will get only two options – 50-50 or 75-25, the choice is yours.

Step 3

After opening the primary or first app, the next step is to choose the second app. For this, you have to swipe up on the toolbar. Doing this will let you choose the second app in the dock.

Step 4

Now drag up off the dock your second app by tapping and holding it. Hover it over the open app and you will see a rectangular window. You can adjust this window to the right or left as per your wish, now release to open the second app.

Step 5

Everything is in your hands, you can decide if you want to rearrange your windows. If you want both the windows of the same size, keep them at 50-50 or if you want to see one larger then you can arrange them to 75-25.

Step 6

Not just arranging, you can also hide whichever window you want. Just tap the grey bar at the top of the window you want to hide and drag it to the side of the screen to make it disappear. Also, remember that this disappearance is temporary. You can get the window back to sight by swiping it from the side.

Step 7

For dividing the screens evenly, all you have to do is to tap and hold the grey bar at the top of the second screen and drag it up or down. Initially, both the screens will get blurred but after you release they will be divided evenly.

Step 8

Once you are done and want to close this feature, simply go to settings and turn off multitasking.
