Sony Corporation is a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation. It is well-known for its consumer electronics namely PlayStation game consoles and televisions. Sony WH-1000XM3, a true wireless headset, which was launched in late 2018, is going to be available from first week of August 2020. And now you can expect the launch of Sony WH-1000XM4 Headphones any day. There has been no official news by the company yet. However, Walmart published a product page for the earbuds that lists new spec and features.
Sony WH-1000XM4 will offer active noise cancellation. It is a method of reducing unwanted external environment sound by the addition of a second sound specifically designed to cancel the first. It works by using microphones to pick up low-frequency noise and neutralise it before it reaches the ear. This feature is truly a blessing for those who use headphones a lot while travelling. With this they can enjoy seamless music and a good sound quality.
The device will support LDAC Bluetooth codec which can transmit three times more data than the current Bluetooth standard. In addition to this, it will now allow multi-point connectivity to allow the headphones to connect to two devices simultaneously. Isn’t that amazing? Also, it will have a ‘Smart Talking’ feature which will allow it to detect a voice, and then it will automatically enable ambient sound, allowing environmental noise to pass through the headphones so you can hear the conversation without removing your earbuds. There will be multiple options attached for this feature. So, Sony is going to be back with some cool features. It is going to enhance users experience.
Sony WH-1000XM4 VS Bose 700 VS Sennheiser Momentum 3
Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Headphones will have to face tough competitions in market from Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 and Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless. Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless is priced at Rs.34,990, and it also offers active noise cancellation (which is not so good in real). It is liked among the users for its design, comfort, and sound quality.
Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 is priced at Rs. 34,500. This headphone is known for its active noise cancellation. It has good design, great comfort while using, and has Intuitive gesture controls. But the sound quality of this headphone is not as good as Sony’s.
So, both above stated companies have their respective share of drawbacks. They offer some similar features like that of Sony. It will be quite interesting to see whether Sony can surpass its competitors and stand-out in the market.
The Walmart listing suggests that the price of this Headphones can be approximately Rs. 26,300 in US market. But the status shows as ‘out of stock’. Also, there is no image listed. In Indian market, the price can be over Rs. 30,0000. However, with this new earbud we can expect improvements to Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless earphones and a good competition.
