Samsung smartphone manufacturer launched the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip foldable devices in the past year. For the time being, the South Korean smartphone production company looks like they are getting ready for the forthcoming brand-new smartphone which comes along with a retractable screen. Before three days ago, Lets Go Digital revealed a European trademark for the name “Samsung Z Roll“, which is meant for the first Samsung smartphone whose display could be rolled. Possibly, it is a sliding type smartphone similar to the Samsung Display that was shown earlier this week. Moreover, Samsung has recently registered a trademark for the Galaxy Z Slide.
For the time being, many reports say that the South Korean manufacturer has filed another trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). On 21 May 2021, Samsung Electronics filed a trademark with the EUIPO for the name “Z Slide”. This application is given a category as a Class 9 which comes with the same description as “Z Roll.”
The description also mentions the S Pen which is used as just a stylus. It is predicted that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 would be Samsung’s first foldable smartphone to provide S Pen support. Samsung is possibly sketching to introduce more foldable, bendable and slidable editions that would have an S Pen support in the upcoming years.
As the name suggests, Galaxy Z Slide and Z Roll seem to look very close to each other. “Roll” seems like rollable, whereas “Slide” seems like it is a slidable type smartphone with a rollable display. Presently, it seems confusing whether Samsung refers to these names and makes it according to its name or whether the brand might have many new smartphone variations in development.
August 2021, is the month when the Samsung manufacturer is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip2 (or Flip3) but these other devices with the huge display are not expected to hit the market till the year 2022.
