Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G Listed on GeekBench
The launch of Galaxy Note 20 series is expected to be finally launched on 5th August 2020 at an ‘Unpacked Event’. With various leaks going around, the Galaxy Note 20 5G was also spotted on the cross-platform processor benchmark platform GeekBench 5.
With its launch imminent, it seems that Samsung has put all hands on deck to develop the new device to its full potential. The phone was observed to carry the model number SM-N986U that is indicative of the 5G variant, at least going by the earlier trend of the Note 10+ 5G carrying the model number SM-N976U.
The listing is also indicative of other key specifications as well. The Galaxy Note 20 5G is expected to come with Android 10, 8 GB RAM and showcase the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC due to it being listed to have a ‘kona’ motherboard. Note that, it is believed to be the codename for the Snapdragon 865+ chipset. There are also rumours of a waterfall display panel. The processor is shown to be clocked at 3.0 9GHz rather than the usual 2.84 GHz which is another indication of the upgraded Snapdragon 865+ chipset.

Coming to the benchmark performance, it has a single core score of 985 and a multi core score of 3,320.
Samsung hasn’t really spilled too many details related to the Galaxy Note 20 family, while this could really be a part of the next generation Galaxy Note family too. The recent patent application that emerged on the web also suggests towards a waterfall display while it is said that the smartphone will have a 120 Hz panel. There even have been some schematic leaks related to the device’s case that give minor hints about the overall design.
While we are excited to learn more about the upcoming launch, keep in mind that the scores are that of a prototype and may change in the future. These scores are not final and neither are they indicative of the final real life performance, and add to that they may be manipulated easily. So, the scores need to be taken with a pinch of salt.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G is expected to launch along with the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 and other devices during the Galaxy Unpacked event that is to be held on 5th August 2020. So, stay tuned as we get to learn more about what Samsung plans to deliver to us!
