Xiaomi’s Redmi has a big day coming up ahead on 11th August 2020. Why do you ask? The company has confirmed that yet another brand new smartphone device will be unveiled on that day. This is the much awaited Redmi K30 Ultra model that is all set and scheduled to be unveiled on the 11th of August.
As of now, the Redmi K30 series of line up has a total of 6 handsets. Among these 6, however, only 2 smartphone devices showcase AMOLED displays, which are the Redmi K30 Pro and the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom. They are also the only models in the K30 family of handsets to also feature 60 Hz refresh rate in them.
However, the latest and upcoming addition to this family of 6, the Redmi K30 Ultra is supposed to not only have the aforementioned AMOLED display screen, but add to it also a 120 Hz refresh rate option! What this implies is basically a smoother screen time and a more refined user experience with the Redmi series of handsets. The report comes from IT Home, itself citing unknown sources.

Do, however, note that the K30 Ultra is expected to launch in China. It is speculated to also go by the name of Redmi K30 Ultra Anniversary Edition or the Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition. Lu Weibing, Redmi GM, had previously stated that the upcoming device will tackle the drawbacks faced by the previous Redmi K30 Pro model, one of which includes the want for a higher refresh rate option.
As for the design, it is speculated to be reminiscent of the preceding K30 Pro and Zoom handsets. The device is said to have a 6.67 inch display screen featuring a 20 MP pop up selfie camera and a minimal bezel display. It is also said to have one of the latest MediaTek processors with support for 5G connection, the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset that will provide a powerful performance at a relatively low cost.
The device is also supposed to have a 64 MP quad rear camera set up and a 4,500 mAh battery providing a long battery life. Although the 120 Hz refresh rate may eat into the battery, so do keep a lookout for that. But on the other hand, it is said to also support 33W fast charging that can bring your mobile handset to full battery in little time. The variants are thought to launch having 6, 8 and 12 GB of RAM with 128, 256 and 512 GB of ROM respectively.
Apart from the Redmi K30 Ultra, even Xiaomi’s Mi 10 Ultra is expected to make its debut on the very same day as well, at Xiaomi’s 10th anniversary event.
