Looking for a mid-range smartphone? Sweet! Poco has announced the launch of Xiaomi Poco M3 Pro 5G in India on May 19 at a virtual event. It is the upgraded version of Poco Vanilla M3 which was launched in November last year. The new smartphone has many upgraded features than its predecessor and the most notable upgraded feature is that the 5G model will be faster than its predecessor as it will support a higher 90Hz refresh rate and charging speed.

The smartphone will be made available at the price of 15,190 INR across India in three colours namely black, blue and poco yellow. The Poco M3 Pro 5G comes with a 6.53 inch full HD and display with a 90.34% screen-to-body ratio. The dimensions of the device are 161.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm (6.37 x 2.96 x 0.35 in) and it weighs 190 g (6.70 oz). The Poco M3 Pro will support a high 90Hz refresh rate screen which has been upgraded compared to the Poco M3 model.

The company has revealed that the smartphone has been equipped with the newly launched processor namely MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset that is designed to bring 5G connectivity to budget considering the mid-budget devices. It is to be noted that the same technology is used to power the Realme 8 5G that is available in India under 20,000 INR hence making it a competitor in the Indian market. It has been equipped with dual SIM features (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by). Moreover, it has been paired with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and sports up to 128 GB of internal storage which can be expanded to a storage of 512 GB via a microSD card slot.

The smartphone sports a triple rear camera setup that has a 48 megapixel, 26mm (wide) primary sensor, a 2 megapixel secondary sensor and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. At the front, it has been equipped with a 8 megapixel camera. Poco M3 Pro will have a 5,000mAh non-removable battery that supports 18W fast charging. It has been provided with a type-C port to enable the charging process.

It is expected that the Poco X3 will be retired when the company launches the Poco M3 Pro 5G model in the market as it will be priced around the same as X3 and has better performance. More details are expected to be provided by the company after the launch.
