OnePlus has been updating about some of the features and upgrades to be coming with the OxygenOS 11 running on Android 11 by posting on various social media platforms much before the launch date.
Recently the CEO of OnePlus has posted a video with a caption “We don’t mind if you want to get fresh with us.” and a #OxygenOS11 hashtag. The post strongly confirms a major change in the UI of OxygenOS 11. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau also shares a first look at the Always-on-display through a video on twitter.
The Always-on-display is the most awaited feature since ages for OnePlus users. The company has been making smartphones only with the AMOLED displays since the OnePlus 3 but missing the always on display feature. The company is finally bringing the feature in the OxygenOS 11 update.
The video gives an idea on the new clocks and some other implementations. There will be a vertical straight line in the middle with the clock going down as the day passes, this is one interesting feature to be on the phone.
On the top of the screen there will be the number of times the screen is unlocked in a day and the vertical straight line has some gaps in between showing when the screen is used. The notification icons are moved to the very bottom of the screen. The number of active pixels to be displayed at a time has been reduced to save battery life with the implementation of the always on display.
OnePlus has been so late to bring this feature but when it brings,it brings the best. The OxygenOS 11 is going to be so smooth and fresh.
The other major updates will be :
- Enabling of fingerprint lock for the hidden album in the gallery.
This was one of the most suggested features to be added on the phone by many users as they wanted their hidden pictures to be more secure than just having an app lock.
- The phone will be playing a sound when the battery is fully charged to ensure no over charging and extended battery life.
- You can have folders right in the app drawer , not only on the home screen.
- The Zen Mode will be a little more implemented than before.
Sadly, OnePlus 5 series won’t be receiving the OxygenOS 11, it stays on the OxygenOS 10.
The devices that will be receiving the update will be:
- OnePlus 8 Pro
- OnePlus 8 5G
- OnePlus 8
- OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren
- OnePlus 7T Pro
- OnePlus 7T
- OnePlus 7 Pro 5G
- OnePlus 7 Pro
- OnePlus 7
- OnePlus 6T McLaren
- OnePlus 6T
- OnePlus 6
