Oppo Reno 6 series with 5G chipset and 65W fast charging support launched

Nowadays, Oppo is launching its new phones faster to compete with other smartphone brands in the market. If we look at the Reno 5 series that was launched worldwide in January this year, if you thought that this is it for this whole year, then you are wrong. Oppo has launched its Reno 6 series, which includes three phones i.e, Reno 6 5G, Reno 6 Pro 5G, and Reno 6 Pro+ 5G. These three smartphones differentiate in costs, features and specifications but they have a goal to fill the smartphone market with mid-range devices with massive features so that anyone can afford this.

Overall looking at these three different devices, the Oppo Reno 6 has a design theme that is quite similar to that of the iPhone 12. The phone becomes slim and flat at its edges and flat at its display in a similar way as the iPhone 12 did, but the wide display notch is not found here. All of the variants are powered by the MediaTek Density. However, the displays have a limit of 90Hz AMOLED panels.

Oppo is yet to confirm the global launch of these three device variants. The Reno 6 begins at 2,799 RMB which is Rs 32,000 for the 8GB/128GB variant while the 12GB/256GB variant will be 3,199 RMB. The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 900 chip and features ColorOS based on Android 11.

The new flat smartphone has a flat 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display as well as a refresh rate of 90Hz. If we talk about the camera, it has a 32-megapixel selfie camera which is in the form of a punch-hole cutout. The rear cameras include a 64-megapixel primary camera coupled with an 8-megapixel for ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel for the macro sensor. It is powered by a 4300 mAH battery which is supported by a 65W fast charging.

The Pro variants of the Oppo Reno 6 series get a curved edge display treatment, with the two of them having the 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. They both are powered by 4500mAh and supported by 65W fast charging. They both feature the ColorOS 11.3 based on Android 11.

Both are similar in all features but the cameras and processors vary. The Reno 6 Pro features the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip. However, the Reno 6 Pro+ features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip. This time none of the Reno series has yet got a Snapdragon 888 chip.

The Reno 6 Pro features a 64-megapixel primary camera as well as an 8-megapixel for ultra-wide sensor and dual 2-megapixel for macro and depth sensors. The Reno 6 Pro+ has a better camera as compared to the 6 pro, i.e, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor for the primary camera, paired with a 16-megapixel for ultra-wide sensor, a 13-megapixel for the telephoto sensor as well as a 2-megapixel for depth sensor.

The Reno 6 Pro features both 8GB/128GB as well as 12GB/256GB, starting at 3,499 RMB which is Rs 40,000. However, Reno 6 Pro+ also comes in similar editions, starting at 3,999 RMB which is Rs 45,475.
