Oppo Reno 5 Series To Come With Unannounced SoCs

The Oppo Reno Series has become Oppo’s most successful series. The company first introduced this phone just last year in April. Since then, the Oppo Reno 2, 3 and just recently the Reno 4 has been launched. One and a half months after the launch of Reno 4, the techies have started digging into the next Reno. And The Oppo Reno 5 series seems to be in development.

There are many talks about it right now. People are saying that this phone would come with Qualcomm’s unannounced chipset, the Snapdragon 775G and Snapdragon 860 SoCs. These chipsets are still not launched by Qualcomm but still it is said that Reno 5 would have it.

The Oppo Reno 5 series would consist of the simple Reno 5, Reno 5 Pro and Reno 5 Pro+. The Oppo Reno 5 is said to come with the Snapdragon 775G SoC while the Reno 5 Pro and Reno 5 Pro+ will come with the Snapdragon 860 SoC. This news seemed to come for the renowned Chinese website, the Weibo, known for its leaks.

Going deeply into the processor, the Snapdragon 775G is said to be the upgraded version of the Snapdragon 765G. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 860 will be the cheaper version of Snapdragon 865. (probably with less functionality as the Snapdragon 865). The rumours of these chipsets started earlier in August when a tipster said that this was mentioned in an Oppo meeting. Whether what this tipster says is true or not, we can only know that after the official announcement.

Other than the processor and the models, Weibo did not provide any other information as Oppo obviously did not announce this phone yet. Also, Qualcomm has also not announced the two chipsets that these phones are said to come with. But since it is the next descendant of the Oppo Reno series, it is sure to be packed with some exciting new features. It is also seen that the Oppo Reno 3 and 4 are full-display featuring phones with just that little hole for the camera. So, taking this into consideration, who knows, to expel that little hole, Oppo also brings the under-display camera like the ZTE. If the company is to do that, it would be really exciting.
