Oppo could release a new gaming smartphone, patent discovered on EUIPO

Brands such as Realme, Xiaomi, ASUS and OnePlus have already launched gaming smartphones and to keep up with that, Oppo is now expected to release a gaming smartphone. The company is already gearing up for the launch of its 6 series smartphone on July 16. Leaks of the design show that the smartphone will be similar looking to the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro and the ASUS ROG Phone 5

A patent filed by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) revealed some important photos and details about this gaming smartphone from Oppo. The marketing name and the model number are not yet revealed on the website but going by the images the smartphone’s design is pretty similar to the previously stated phones and the images leaked show that the smartphone will not have a punch-hole or a notch.

Instead of punch-hole, it will have thick bezels at the top and will feature a quad camera setup at the back and a unique finish on the back panel. It is expected to have a thick forehead and skin but the smartphone will reportedly remain lightweight. Power button will be on the right and the volume panel on the left. The bottom of the phone will contain a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and the speakers as well.

The smartphone is likely to be similar, in terms of design, to the Oppo Reno 6 Series phones. The listing does not reveal the detailed specs and price of the phone but it is likely to be a flagship smartphone and if it turns out to have good reception from the audience and increasing sales, it might feature top-of-the-line hardware.

At the time of writing this, the company has not yet confirmed the existence of this smartphone and detailed specs remain undisclosed but what we can expect is a powerful gaming smartphone which will make its competitors in the gaming smartphone market wary. There has been no leaks or communication regarding the price and launch date aspects of this highly anticipated smartphone by the Chinese manufacturing company.
