Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp., Ltd, has launched its very own Oppo A72 5G in China after the launch of 4G variant in June. As suggested by the name, it supports 5G. This phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 720 MT6853V chipset instead of the Snapdragon 665 which is in the 4G phone. The device will run on Android 10 OS along with the ColorOS custom skin. This device will support dual nano sims which has become quite common. It has an attractive gradient design, which looks unique. It will come in three colour options namely Neon, Oxygen Violet, and Simple Black.
Display
The smartphone has a 6.5-inch touch screen with full HD + display and a resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels. It has a 90Hz refresh rate which is quite high as compared to standard 60Hz on the 4G variant. It also has a punch-hole cut out at the top-left corner to accommodate the selfie camera and has a triple rear camera. The screen to body ratio of 90.5 percent. The dimensions are 162.2 x 75 x 7.9mm and it weighs 175 grams.
The phone supports connectivity namely dual-band Wi-Fi, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, built-in GPS, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack. It will come with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. For external storage there will be microSD space.
Camera
Oppo is generally known for its seamless and interesting camera features. Oppo A72 5G will have a triple camera unit on the back housed inside a square-shaped camera system which has become common in all the phones being launched. The camera includes16-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and 2-megapixel depth modules and the LED flash. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel sensor, punch hole camera which is a selfie snapper. The company claims good quality photos in all its devices. This device includes various modes such as photo, video, expert, time lapse night, portrait, panorama, slow-motion. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security of the device.
Battery & Price
Oppo A72 5G comes with non-removable Li-Po 4,040mAh cell capacity that draws power through a USB-C port 18W which can be considered fast charging. The phone will have three variants namely 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB storage which will cost Rs.18,300, Rs.19,400, Rs.21,500, respectively. It can be considered as a 5G mid-range smartphone. As for now it is available for pre-order on the official China’s Oppo website.
