OnePlus has launched its sixth television in India today, namely OnePlus TV 40Y1 which is a OnePlus Y1 series television. The TV has been produced keeping in mind the Indian audience and hence is affordable with a reasonable price for a smart TV. The smart TV comes in addition to the 32-inch and 43-inch Y1 smart TVs that are already available in India.
The OnePlus TV 40Y1 has a price of Rs. 23,999 in India but the company has decided to sell the television initially with a discount and customers can buy it at a price of Rs. 21,999 during the first sale on Flipkart on May 26 at 12 p.m. and on the OnePlus online store where it will be available in within eight days as per reports. It is to be noted that buyers can get a 10% instant discount if they use HDFC Bank cards and EMI transactions.
The TV has a plastic build and it can be placed on either a table or on the wall but for the latter, customers will have to buy the wall mount separately unlike the stand which comes in the box itself. The OnePlus TV 40Y1 features a display screen of 40-inch with LED-backlit LCD panel and a screen-to-body ratio of 93%. As per reports, the resolution of the smart TV is 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The television is powered by a 64-bit chipset but the exact name has not been revealed yet. OnePlus TV 40Y1 runs on Android TV 9.0 Pie operating system and is supported with a 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. It has the advanced Gamma Engine which will improve the visual quality. Also, there is support for dynamic contrast, noise cancellation and anti-aliasing colour space mapping for better picture quality.
The smart TV supports single-band WiFi, Bluetooth version 5.0, two HDMI ports, two USB ports, RF, optical digital audio port, 3-in-1 AV composite and ethernet as far as connectivity is concerned. It also supports a number of leading streaming services such as Google Chromecast, Google Assistant and even Amazon Alexa. There is support for platforms like ZEE5, Amazon Prime Video, Sony Liv, Netflix and Spotify as well. The television also features two 10W speakers with support for Dolby Audio and it is compatible with the OnePlus Connect app which will offer control and other options to the television.
