It has been less than a month now that the OnePlus Nord was released. Ever since its specs got leaked, OnePlus has capitalized on that to hype up their launch, which assured a successful one at that. Certainly, taking away all the spotlight from other smartphones of likes of the iPhone SE and the Google Pixel 4a, news about the OnePlus Nord has been doing rounds for some or the other reason since its inception. OnePlus has started rolled out new OxygenOS 10.5.4 update based on Android 10 to the Nord users.
The fan favorite budget phone made its debut on the 21st of July 2020 with a first of its kind AR launch. Just like all other handset devices from OnePlus, the Nord runs on the company’s proprietary skin- OxygenOS. It launched, coming out of the box with Oxygen OS 10.5 based on Android 10. While OnePlus is generally very good and consistent with rolling out software updates for their devices, the same applies to Nord as well. The Nord is supposed to get two years of software updates- Android 11 in 2020 and Android 12 in 2021- as well as three years of security updates. It is even possible for the device to get another upgrade to Android 13 in 2022.
Keeping their practices with the past trends of regular updates for the devices, the OxygenOS 10.5.4 was recently rolled out for the OnePlus Nord. The history of updates includes 10.5.1 a mere day after the launch, 10.5.2 a few days later and 10.5.3 in early August. The latest update rollout was posted on the OnePlus community forum page and brings with it a host of improvements such as faster launching speed for the inbuilt Gallery app, some improvements in camera performance, better video call quality, other system, camera, cloud enhancements and also a number of bug fixes.
Further, for the camera, the update has seemed to better the color accuracy and white balance of low light selfies, making selfies in darker environments a bit better. Enhancements in vibrancy and color accuracy for the macro camera also has improved overall camera performance. Bugs causing background music to pause when opening the camera has also been apparently resolved.
