OnePlus Nord N200 to get just one major Android update
OnePlus Nord N100’s successor, the Nord N200, seems to be the most anticipated smartphone for the near future. The company’s CEO, Peter Lau, has also revealed that it would be OnePlus’ most affordable 5G smartphone to date. There has been no other official communications in aspects of the launch dates and pricing. But, by the looks of things, the phone is headed in the right direction as it will get three years of maintenance updates moving forward.
Peter Lau recently also announced that the company will also be merging with Oppo to bring out better products in the future and serve the customers better. He said that they will be working on faster and more stable software updates. Presumably, the Nord 200 will also get the Android 12 update. The smartphone will also receive an extra year of security patches over the course of three years but there is no word on the time intervals between which these will be rolled out.
In terms of the specifications, the OnePlus Nord N200 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor and launches with a 4GB RAM. Based on Android 11, it boasts 64GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 256GB via the MicroSD card. It measures 163.10×74.90×8.3 mm and weighs around 189 grams. It provides a screen resolution of 1080×2400 pixels at 45ppi density. It has a 6.49 inch touchscreen display with an aspect ratio of 20:9.
It also provides fast charging with a 5000mAh battery and supports face unlock and a fingerprint sensor. It features a 90Hz refresh rate as well. The connectivity options of the phone include WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, USB-Type C with a Proximity, Fingerprint, Ambient Light sensors and a gyroscope.
As for the camera, it has a triple camera set-up (With autofocus) on the rear with a 13 MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture and another 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is a 16MP camera with an f/2.05 aperture.
At the moment, it has been released in selected regions in one colour: Blue Quantum, priced at around Rs. 18,000 in the US or $240.
