OnePlus launched its OnePlus 9R, back in April 2021. It is the cheapest smartphone in the OnePlus 9 series. And shortly after the first OxygenOS update in late May, the company has now released a new update for the OnePlus 9R.
The last OxygenOS update for the smartphone was reportedly causing abnormal battery drainage from the OnePlus device. And the users were unhappy about that. So, to fix this problem and maintain its reputation, OnePlus has now released a new OxygenOS 11.2.33 update.
The previous OnePlus 9R OxygenOS 188.8.131.52 update came in May with the May 2021 android security patch and also, camera, gallery and system improvements were introduced.
OnePlus announced the new OxygenOS update on its community forum. It will be a hotfix update, mainly to counter the battery drainage problem. OnePlus stated that the abnormal battery drainage issue has been cured with the new update.
The new OxygenOS update detailed that the smartphone will now reduce power consumption in a specific scenario. Another detail about the update states that it had countered “known issues for a better experience”.
Users running the previous May 2021 update will soon receive the hotfix update. The update is 106 MB big. According to a post by a user on the community forum, the new update will not be bundled by any Android security patch.
Talking about the smartphone, the OnePlus 9R comes with an OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11. Its screen consists of a 6.5-inch full HD+ OLED display supported by a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Snapdragon 870 and has 8 GB RAM with 128 GB internal storage.
OnePlus 9R comes with a quad rear camera, consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP wide-angle sensor, a 5MP macro sensor and a 2MP monochrome sensor. A 16 MP sensor is responsible for selfies and video calls. The OnePlus 9R is backed up by a 4,500mAh battery with wrap charge 65 fast charging.
