OnePlus has introduced a new OxygenOS 188.8.131.52 update for several of its devices namely OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T and OnePlus Nord N100. Last three of the mentioned devices will also receive an Android security patch with the update which will in turn improve system stability and will help in fixing bugs but it is to be noted that the update for the OnePlus Nord N100 will be available only in North America and Europe while the OnePlus 6 series will have the update at a global scale. The brand has rolled out the update for OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series today.
Users can update their OnePlus 6,6T,Nord N100, 7 and 7T series devices by going to ‘Settings’ in their device and then by following ‘System’ option and there they will find an option ‘System updates’. To ensure that their smartphone is updated without any issues, they must ensure that their mobile is connected to a good Wi-Fi network and has been charged adequately. OnePlus has only revealed that the new update will bring the latest security patch and general fixes till now.
Some of the benefits of the new update will be – Improved system fluency, update of Android security patch to 2021.05, improved swiping experience of Shelf, improved loading speed of previewing pictures, fixing of the occasional issue of delay in incoming call interface and the occasional abnormal display issue while making a call. It will also improve 4G network communication and Wi-Fi connection stability.
The company has said that initially they will roll out the update to only a limited number of users but once they are sure that there are no bricking issues or bugs then they will begin the roll out of the OS update at a large scale. As far as the update size is concerned, the brand has not given any information regarding the size of the new OS update but it is about 321 MB according to various reports as well as through the images shared by the users who have already received it.
