Nokia has launched a new device to rival the in market AMAZON Fire TV stick and other Smart boxes that are available only in India. Nokia Media Streamer made for Televisions to make it a Smart Television.
If you are having an old TV that does not support smart features or an old TV that has an old Smart TV software, then you can easily convert it into a new Smart TV using the Smart Sticks or box, same like the available Mi TV Stick and Amazon Fire TV sticks. The only feature required on your old TV is a HDMI port, if that is there then you can simply plug it in and make your TV smart(or smarter).
The company has made it clear that this particular Device will be exclusively available in India. It was launched by Flipkart, one of the e-commerce platforms, and will go on sale on August 28th on Flipkart. Now let us take a peek at all the features and specifications of the Device.
The Nokia media streamer is powered by the Android TV 9.0 Pie version. It has a quad core processor, a Mali 450 GPU that is paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB in-built storage. The performance of the hardware is good enough and the company mentions that it gives a flicker, blur or lag free experience while watching any content.
The media streamer has a Dual band WiFi (2.4GHz/5 GHz) that has zero transfer delay and a complete uninterrupted viewing experience.
It fits in the rear port of your TV without making much space, even when the TV is wall mounted without any mess of wires, just a one plug and play.
It also gives a high clarity audio output coming with Dolby audio, that enhances audio even on non-Dolby enabled Televisions.
Dedicated Remote with Google voice assistant:
The media streamer smart box comes with a dedicated easy to use remote that is so handy and consists of Netflix and Zee5 hot buttons, which when pressed take you to the app.
The remote also has a google voice assistant with in-built microphone , press the voice assistant button on your Remote or simply say OK Google and start talking to the assistant. There is also a support for the Android TV app, which can be installed in your smartphone and use it as a remote using the phone’s Bluetooth which means your smartphone need not have an IR blaster.
