The Japanese Tech Giant Nokia announced somewhere in April, has made its way into the US market with its latest Nokia G20 at $199. The phone comes in a single variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Moreover, it comes in two color options which are ‘Night’ & ‘Glacier.’ The phone will be available for purchase from July 1 onwards on Nokia’s Official website.
The processor unit that will power the G20 is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. In addition, the G20 comes equipped with a 6.52 inches HD+ screen and will run Android 11. Nokia also promises two years of OS upgrades, implying that the smartphone will get Android 12 and Android 13 upgrades in the future.
Nokia is quite famous for its phone cameras as they have previously experimented with many different camera concepts. The Nokia G20 sports a total of five cameras, an 8MP selfie camera in the phone’s notch & quad cameras on the backside. One whopping 48MP primary camera accompanied with 5MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera. Giving the phone a lot of value for its budget price tag.
The budget phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometric security, which can also be used to access Google Assistant. The battery unit that powers the entire phone is a 5050mAh battery, which charges through a USB-C port with 10W power. Nokia also boasts the phone can last up to 3 days without charging, which will be possible because of its AI-assisted battery.
The smartphone is also IPX2 rated, which makes the Nokia G20 smartphone splash-resistant. When it comes to sound Nokia G20 is equipped with Spatial Surround sound.
Nokia is offering all of this at the price point of $199. Multiple debates are going around how well the phone will do in the market, but it all depends on how well the phone performs during its launch and how well it will stand against its competitors in the budget smartphone category.
