March 2020 saw a global announcement of the Nokia 5.3 smartphone. The device was announced together with the Nokia 1.3, Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 5310 (2020) earlier this year. The device listing reveals all the specs and features of the device. So, without further ado, let us have a look at what all the device has to offer!

For color variations, buyers will have to choose between Cya, Sand and Charcoal.

The smartphone handsets come running on the Android 10 OS out of the box. Nokia even promises software updates for the device for two year as well. The Nokia 5.3 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 SoC chipset and also has a Adreno 610 GPU. The handset comes in three RAM variants of 3 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB and has an internal storage space of 64 GB. It even provides a microSD card slot for storage of up to 512 GB. Additionally, it even has a Google Assistant button.

The camera build includes a 13 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture lens, a 5 MP ultra wide sensor, a 2 MP depth sensor and a 2 MP macro lens. The camera build also includes a LED flash to support better photography. On the front, is a 8 MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. While the rear cameras have support for 4K UHD recording at 30FPS, the selfie camera is capable of recording at 1080p.
The price of the handset is still unknown but expectations are around Rs.15,000. So the price in the Indian market could be slightly above or below that. For comparison’s sake, it was introduced in the European market at a price of 189 Euros (i.e. about USD 224 or INR 16,000).
After the earlier global announcement, it received generally positive reviews by experts familiar with the matter and by fans alike. It is seemingly a good value for money option in the budget phone segment in the Indian market as well. While we don’t know when we will be able to get our hands on it, Nokia fans remain excited for it, as it will definitely be some time soon!
