On July 6, 2021, i.e. Tuesday, the Japanese multinational electronic and gaming company Nintendo unveiled a new OLED model for its famous portable Switch gaming consoles. The corporation fixed an arrival date for the model i.e. October 8, 2021. The latest edition comes with an upgraded display, more storage, improved speakers, and a better design.
In terms of the specifications, this brand new model is a step up over the basic model’s 6.2-inch IPS LCD. The Nintendo Switch OLED features a 7-inch OLED display. But, it comes with a resolution of 1280×720 just like all other models. The rear of the OLED variant also has a new kickstand. Nintendo stated that the audio from the bottom-firing dual speakers has been improved over the basic model. However, the firm stayed tight-lipped on the details about the changes made to improve the audio. The OLED model has a wider flap that is more durable and can be changed to different settings.
This smart variant has 64GB of internal storage. MicroSDHC or MicroSD cards with a capacity of up to 2TB can be used to dilate the storage space. It is powered by the Nvidia Tegra X1 SoC just like other models. Neon Red, Neon Blue, and an exclusive white set are the color options in which the switch will be available in the market.
Users of the Nintendo Switch OLED Model will be able to play it in three modes, which will also include TV mode, in which the console rests in the dock and connects to the user’s television. There will be no HDMI cable or an AC converter will be included with the OLED dock.
The OLED Nintendo Switch will come at a cost of $350 i.e. roughly Rs. 26,138. The gadget will be available beside the standard switch which costs $300 i.e. roughly Rs. 22,404 and Switch lite model which is priced at $200 i.e. Rs. 14,936.
