Next feature phone of Nokia to be Powered by Android OS with Google assistant support
Most of us remember Nokia, the famous and older consumer electronics company, as the master of feature or the old fashioned keypad phones in the past. The company made the best of such phones in the past and has not stopped yet, it is still continuing to make such phones such as the Nokia 3110, Nokia 8110 and most recently the Nokia 5310. Nokia will launch the company’s next feature phone with Google Assistant support and the phone will run on Android OS may be Android Go.
Even in these days there are people who love to use such phones either to stay away from the immersed social media life or to bring back the old times.
Recently, Nokia was reported to be working on a Google’s Android Powered feature phone that also comes with the most required Google’s Voice Assistant feature. There was also a sketch of the phone with a dedicated google assistant button that has been shared by Nokiamob.
The phone is said to be in development currently and when launched by the company it will be the ‘first of it’s kind’ Mobile phone. The design of the phone looks the same like the usual feature phone, though it is powered by Google’s Android OS. The phone will also be having a selfie camera to take some formal pictures of ourselves.
Another major feature of the phone is that it will be coming with 4G network support. As per some reports, there could be more than one model of such phone to be launched by Nokia.
One of the models would be the Nokia 215 that might be going by the name Nokia 215 (2020) or Nokia 215 4G. When released it will be the most affordable mobile phone that will be supporting 4G networks. The other model could be the Nokia 225 that will be coming along with the 215, also supporting 4G network and applications such as YouTube and Facebook.
The applications running in a Nokia feature phone was spotted in a video that reveals a phone running on some unknown version of Android with pre-installed Google apps like YouTube and Chrome.
The other and probably the last model of such phone will be having the standard 4G support, Whatsapp, Facebook and Google Assistant support with a dedicated side button, as per some leaked images of the phone. The name of this third phone is unknown, but according to NokiaMob it has the codename Nokia Leo Basic. The prices of the phones are not known yet and about the launch, the company is expected to be hosting a virtual launch event on August 25th for the Indian market, the international launches will be happening by the end of this year.
