Lava Pulse phone with heart rate and BP sensor launched in India

Lava International Limited, is an Indian smartphone manufacturer company in the mobile handset industry. The company has launched Lava Pulse feature phone in India. It is the company’s latest offering. The company claims that the new phone is the world’s first phone with a heart rate and Blood Pressure sensor.

Heart Rate and BP Sensor:

As the name suggests, the device comes with a blood pressure monitor. In addition, it also has a built-in heart rate monitor. These features will allow users to measure their heart rate and blood pressure by just placing their finger on the ‘pulse sensor’ at the back. The stats will be displayed on the screen for the user. It can also be stored by the users.

Lava Pulse features a sturdy polycarbonate body. It has 2.4-inch (6.1 cm) QVGA display with screen resolution of 240×320 pixels. It has 167 pixels per inch. The device measures 124.5x52x12.45mm. Further, it supports dual-SIM. The phone has 32MB of RAM and an expandable memory of up to 32GB. It has a 1,800mAh battery.  The battery can last for up to six days on a single charge. Also, the phone has an auto call recording feature. It can save 100 SMS messages and up to 500 phone book contacts.

The connectivity options include Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, wireless FM radio, and more. The device also supports stereo sound. The Lava Pulse has an auto call recording feature. And it also enables users to type in seven languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Gujarati, and Punjabi. Further, the company claims that the phone is Military Grade certified. This suggests that the users do not have to worry about minor wear and tear if the phone slips down.

The device has a single 0.3 MP Primary Camera. It does not have flash. The phone supports image resolution of 640 x 480 Pixels and also camera features includes Digital Zoom.

Although, the overall features are not that great. But what makes this phone unique is heart rate and Blood Pressure sensor. It will be exciting to see how this works. The handset is priced in India at Rs. 1,595 (check). In addition, the phone comes with a 1-year replacement service. It is available online on Amazon, Flipkart and in retail stores for purchase. It is available in only rose gold colour.
