Lava has launched a mid-range smartphone, Lava Z66, in India

Lava has launched Lava Z66 on 4th August 2020 in India. The phone is powered by the 1.6 GHz octa-core processor. And it runs on Android 10 with no custom UI on top. The phone comes with 3GB RAM + 32GB in-built storage. In addition to this, the storage can be expanded further up to 128GB, using a microSD card.

Display

This device has a 6.08-inch HD+ touchscreen display with the resolution of 720×1560 pixels. The pixel density of the phone is 283 pixels per inch. It has a notch display with 2.5D curved screen. The screen to body ratio is 19:9. The dimensions of the phone are 155.6×73.5×8.85mm. And the phone weighs 162 grams.

Lava Z66 will come with 3,950mAh battery. The company claims that this will offer 16 hours of seamless talk time. The connectivity options include Micro USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack. Along with this, it will also support dual-SIM (Nano). Also, the phone has a fingerprint sensor and supports Face Unlock for security concerns. The company claims that the face unlock feature unlocks the phone in just 0.6 seconds. The phone has sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light, and a proximity sensor.

Camera:

The Lava Z66 has a dual camera setup. It has a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel auto focus secondary camera. On the front, it has a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture, for selfies and video calling. For the back cameras it has LED flash, and it also has screen flash, for the selfie camera. The camera supports multiple modes such as beauty mode, HDR mode, burst mode, panorama, night, time lapse, slow motion, and more. The phone will surely let you click some amazing pictures.

The phone comes in three color options:

  • Marine Blue
  • Berry Red
  • Midnight Blue

Lava Z66 is another mid-range, budget friendly smartphone. It sports a good battery and camera features. Although the phone does not support 5G. And it also does not have fast charging. The phone has decent good features. Can the smart phone with its Made in India tag surpass its competition from other mid-ranger phones such as that of Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime, Infinix Smart 4 Plus, Realme C11, Oppo A12 and many more? Well, it will be interesting to see whether this affordable decent smartphone, acquires a significant market share or not

This Made in India smartphone is priced at Rs. 7,777, in India. The Lava phone is available for purchase offline from partner retailers. The online sales have not begun yet. But it is expected to begin soon through Amazon and Flipkart.
