Beyond the shadow of a doubt, Xiaomi’s cost-effective devices have always attracted the attention of everyone. Every year it brings up something amazing, be it a smartphone, some accessory, or a gaming monitor. While talking about the gaming monitors, how can I forget to mention the amazing 34-inch ultrawide monitor that launched last month only? Its attractive design and booming screen have made it even more fun to play and chill. In this article, I am going to tell you everything about Mi curved 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitor. So, all the gamers out there brace yourself!
Xiaomi’s gaming device has a really attractive and smart monitor along with an adaptable stand. You can raise, tilt, lower or even swivel the stand, amazing right? And yes, you can easily attach the stand to that neat monitor with the help of magnetic covers on the stand, it will pop on and off, without a hitch.
The monitor panel is the most attractive part of this device, just like a 27-inch 1440p screen having a third more horizontal real estate. Its 34-inch screen with 3440 X 1440 display feels legit like an ultrawide dream comes true. Moreover, this device feels like a real thing with its 1500R curvature. The matte finish of this monitor is worth the appreciation, also, the panel uses VA technology which is quite good. The color reproduction is also strong, though a little dimmer at 300 nits, again it can be avoided conveniently.
Here comes the stumbling block, Xiamoi’s this model does not have an HDR, yes you read that right! Not only the absence of HDR, but it also does not have even the lowest-end Display HDR 400 specification (quite disappointing). But a true gamer can ignore this issue as well because Xiaomi has compensated it with something wonderful. It has a 144Hz refresh rate that too with FreeSync (now that’s what I call a true deal). This means playing games will be a piece of cake with variable frame rates.
But wait, using an unverified FreeSync doesn’t guarantee proper functioning with Nvidia GTX 1080 as this FeeSync is designed just for AMD GPUs.
Now let’s talk about some drawbacks
Everything has its pros and cons, I have covered almost all the pros, now is the time I tell you about some cons. The first one is the port problem, even though you get Two DisplayPort, HDMI ports and a headphone jack, it truly lacks USB hub functionality as well as USB-C support for charging and single-cable display output.
The five small buttons at the back of the display leave you puzzled most of the time and often let you miss the joystick-style control on Asus. Moreover, the monitor might become lazy at the time of waking up or switching inputs (that means you have to hold onto your patience).
Anyway, after reading and analyzing these pros and cons, we can say none of the cons an stop us from buying this amazing device. If you want a real time gaming experience then Mi 34-inch curved ultrawide monitor is worth the purchase. Xiaomi launched this curved monitor at EUR 399 (₹ 34,200 / $469) price point.
