iOS 14: How to Get New Apps Right into your App Library

The more we learn about iOS 14 features, the more we become eager to get it on our iPhone right away. Though there are uncountable whole new features introduced with iOS 14, some of them are really front-runners including the cool back-tap feature, home screen widgets, and on top of everything, The App Library. I know how overjoyed you all were when you heard about the excellent “Put in Order” feature of iOS 14. All your apps will be grouped perfectly from your socials to entertainment to creativity, everything will be arranged automatically and you will be put off the hassle.

In iOS 13 and other previous updates, the newly downloaded apps used to appear on Home Screen and that was quite unsystematic. But with iOS 14 you no longer need to face the hassle of creating separate folders as the newly downloaded apps will directly go to the recently added section of the App Library (convenient enough?). There is no need to show new apps on the home screen as your App Library will be right there to give you direct access to the apps. In this way, your home screen will be free from the chaos and you will love your well-kept home screen like ever!

Let’s tell you these easy steps to get newly downloaded apps straight to your App Library:

  1. On your iPhone, first head to the Settings App
  2. Click ‘Home Screen’
  3. Now select ‘App Library Only’ under the ‘New App Downloads’ section

That’s it! Now your downloaded apps will go directly to the App Library and you won’t be facing the hassle.

Now, what if you want to change the settings and get your downloaded apps on your home screen only? Well, you can follow these steps to do so:

  1. Head to the Settings App
  2. Tap on the ‘Home Screen’ option
  3. Now, select ‘Add to Home Screen’ option under the ‘New App Downloads’ section

If you see the entire ‘Home Screen’ section in settings, you will notice one more option and that is ‘Show in App Library’. Basically this feature is used to get the notification badges to appear in the App Library. If you want to enable the notification option, just slide the toggle and you will get notification badges. Also, there is a shortcut, do you want to know? If you wish to move an app from the App Library to your Home Screen then simply long-press its icon in the app library and then select ‘Add to Home Screen’. Your app will be moved in no time.

In this way, you can change and re-change the settings as per your desire. Even though this feature might seem to be a tiny one, but trust me this one will be worth the use. Nothing is more satisfying than getting your apps automatically arranged without you moving even a finger. This feature will definitely be adored by those who like their home screen well-groomed (just like I do).
