Huawei has launched its new MatePad 10.8 in a recent launch event. It is now official in China. The company has launched many other products along with this, including the Huawei Band B6, Huawei MateBook D14 (7nm Ryzen), MateBook D15 (7nm Ryzen), Huawei MatePad 10.8, Huawei Enjoy Tablet 2, and Huawei Children’s Band 4X.
Coming to the MatePad, it supports the WiFi 6+ technology for better speeds on the Device, upto 2400Mbps. This is a new feature on their tables, this was previously available on the P40 series.
The tablet has a 10.8”, 16:10 2K resolution (1600 x 2560 pixels resolution and 280ppi pixel density) IPS LCD screen on it. It comes with Android 10 os and Huawei’s EMUI 10.1.
Inside the tablet there’s a Kirin 990 SoC chipset, a 7nm processor and an integrated GPU a 16-core Mali G76 along with a 6GB of RAM. The ROM goes upto 256GB, and also has a micro SD slot to expand the storage. It has a Harmon Kardon quad-speaker quad-channel sound system and support for Histen 6.1 sound effects.
Huawei MatePad 10.8 comes with a support to their magnetic keyboard and an M-Pencil stylus. The tablet weighs around 500gm. To connect a keyboard there are pogo-pin slots on the edges. The device has a fingerprint scanner on it, supports LTE, WI-FI 6+, Bluetooth 5.0 for networking. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack. The tablet is great for multi tasking purposes as it has a big screen room for it.
Coming to the camera, it has a 8-megapixel front camera(f/2.0 aperture) and a 13-megapixel rear camera (f/1.8 aperture) and autofocus which is quite satisfying for a camera on a tablet. The battery is big enough for the day with a capacity of 7500mAh and a support for 22.5W fast charging via USB TYPE-C.
The price and availability, The Huawei MatePad 10.8 in china has four different variants:
- 6 GB RAM + 64 GB Storage (Wi-Fi only) -2,399 Yuan (~$342)
- 6 GB RAM + 128 GB Storage (Wi-Fi only)-2,799 Yuan (~$399)
- 6 GB RAM + 128 GB Storage (LTE) – 3,199 Yuan (~$456).
- 6 GB RAM + 256 GB Storage (Wi-Fi + keyboard) -3,599 Yuan (~$513)
The tablet is now open to pre-sale in China. The sales of the device will start on August 13. There is no word on the international availability of the MatePad 10.8 but surely there will be a tablet from Huawei in the near future.
