Galaxy M21 Prime Edition to be released as Galaxy M21 2021 Edition

Samsung Galaxy M21 prime edition will now be called the Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 Edition. On the Google Play supported device list, this is how the name appeared on the screen. This suggests that there’s a high chance the smartphone will be called the 2021 Edition instead of Prime Edition, which it was supposed to be called earlier. There is no launch date speculated or official confirmation for the phone, but we can expect the launch very soon and reportedly, the smartphone is touted to be a lot like last year’s M21 and even carries the same model number as its predecessor.

Galaxy M21 2021

The Galaxy M21 2021 edition appeared on the Samsung India website earlier this year and like last year’s phone, the company is planning to launch the 2021 edition in partnership with Amazon this year as well. This will also include pre-installed Amazon apps and a three month free subscription as well. As mentioned earlier, no specific date has been set for the launch but it will be released around a time where there is a new sale event on amazon to attract customers.

In terms of the specifications, it is powered by Android 11 and the SoC gets doubled up to 6GB RAM, and upto 128 GB storage. The storage can be expanded via the Micro SD card. The phone boasts a Octa-core exynos 9611 chipset with Mali-G72MP3 GPU. With a Infinity U Super AMOLED display screen and a resolution of 2340x1080m pixels, the phone is 6.4 inch in size with a Full HD+ display of 420 nits brightness. The smartphone supports 15W fast charging with a 6000 mAh battery. A 3.55 mm headphone jack, a Type-C port and a fingerprint sensor in the rear is also available in the smartphone.

For the camera, it has a triple camera set up with a 48MP primary sensor supported by an 8MP Ultra Wide Angle lens, 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 123 degree FoV. It has a 20MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture for the selfie lovers.

According to reports, the rumoured price at which the smartphone is set to launch in India is Rs. 16,000 compared to the Rs. 13,000 of the original M21 which launched last year.
