Why you should choose OnePlus 8 over OnePlus 8 Pro
We are talking about two new smartphones which OnePlus launched last week. Here we are comparing OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 pro side by side, each and every perspective.
Basically, the OnePlus 8 differs from OnePlus 8 Pro in 8 primary things:
- Processing Power (RAM)
- Display
- Design (Size)
- Camera
- Charging
- Battery Capacity
- IP Rating
- Price (Obviously)
Processing Power:
Both smartphones come with the latest Snapdragon 865 chip-set with 5G enabled. You will get both of the phones in 8GB/12GB RAM variants. The only difference in terms of power in RAM type. OnePlus 8 offers LPDDR4X RAM while 8 Pro offers LPDDR5 RAM. LPDDR5 is more powerful and battery efficient compared to LPDDR4X. Here some performance deference you feel but it’s negligible.
If we compare two smartphones, we should know the price before comparing. The OnePlus 8 price starts with $699 (Rs. 41,999) and 8 Pro price starts with $899 (Rs. 54,999). Here the price gap of both phones is $200 (Rs. 13000).
Display:
OnePlus 8 comes with 1080p display and 90Hz refresh rate while 8 Pro has 2K display and 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus 8 display is a little bit smaller compared to 8 Pro.
Camera:
OnePlus 8 has triple rear camera setup (48MP + 16MP + 2MP) while 8 Pro has quad rear camera setup (48MP + 48MP + 8MP + 5MP). and both devices have the same 16MP selfie camera.
Others:
The OnePlus 8 doesn’t support wireless charging, and it has no official IP rating. However, the OnePlus 8 is capable of protecting water from injecting.
Let’s consider the price gap between two devices. Price deference is $200 (Rs. 13000). If you buy a OnePlus8 over 8 Pro you will get a 90Hz display, missing one camera and wireless charging. There are no major noticeable differences between 90 Hz and 120 Hz. and for this you need to pay 13000 Rs. more, this amount is not small, you can buy one Redmi device from this amount.
At the price of Rs. 41,499 you will get the same performance as 8 Pro. You will get the same processor as 8 Pro and you can save Rs. 13000.
