Last week Asus ZenFone 8 & ZenFone 8 Flip handset models were launched globally. However, the latest ZenFone series is yet to be launched in India.
Just before the Zenfone 8 series was about to launch globally, the company Asus announced “provided the Covid-19 surge in India, Asus ZenFone latest series will not launch in India”. As of now, Asus has not shared any official launch date in India.
Now, Asus ZenFone 8 & ZenFone 8 Flip, have been spotted on Google Play Supported devices listing with their model numbers & alternate names. The ZenFone 8 is spotted with model number ASUS_I006D & alternate name Asus 8Z, which suggest that handset will launch as Asus 8Z in some parts of the world, including India as well.
Even so, the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip, has not been spotted with an alternate name, but we believe that it is expected to be launched as the Asus 8Z Flip in India.
Asus launched the ZenFone 6 around the globe in May 2019, which a month later was launched as Asus 6Z in India. We don’t know the actual reason, but it was likely to be because of a branding issue with the “ZenFone” moniker.
