Asus ZenFone 8 India launch delayed because of Covid

Last year, we saw the Zenfone 7 with a full-screen display with no notches or holes on the top, and I guess Asus is the only brand that still keeps such a fantastic design. Zenfone 7 never made its launch in India, which is quite shocking. So, the exciting news is Asus officially started teasing the Zenfone 8 series. The launch of this new device is also a reply to the other smartphone brands in the Indian market like One plus, Xiaomi and Oppo.

The flagship with a stock interface, Qualcomm 888 5G, and all the specifications add an aggressive price to this phone. It is also expected that this phone may be a direct competitor with Oneplus. Also, some renders about the launch of this smartphone include 5.92 inches full HD+ display, hole punch on the top left for the selfie camera.

The backside of the phone seems to have a dual-camera setup, including an Led flash. The dual rear cameras include a 64 MP primary camera and a 12 MP camera for a macro lens, which would support up to 8K video recordings.  It would also have an 8GB+128GB of storage, 4000mAh battery with 30 Watt fast charging support. And interestingly, it has a 3.5mm jack at the top. The 8GB/128GB variant of Asus ZenFone 8 will cost around Rs. 62,500 and 16GB/256GB will cost around Rs. 71,500 in India.

There were many updates made earlier regarding the launch of this device on May 12 Globally. Earlier, the Asus Zenfone was launched globally and in India on the same date. But this time, Dinesh Sharma made clear on his Twitter handle; this phone would be launched in India, keeping the COVID scenario in mind. He stated that the launch in India might take some time as the COVID scenario is not good as of now. Therefore, it’s now clear that the global and the Indian launch dates would differ.
