Asus officially launched its new Chrome OS based laptop “Asus Chromebook Flip CM5.” It was first announced by the company in January 2021, but now it’s available for sale.
Talking about Chromebook Flip CM5, as its name suggests it features a 360-degree hinge, i.e., folds the keyboard flat. The device is said to feature a touch-screen display and comes with a stylus. The highlight feature of this Chromebook Flip CM5 is that it comes with AMD Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 processors.

Asus Chromebook Flip CM5 is designed with a 15.6-inch FHD display with 1,920×1,080 resolution, and 60Hz screen refresh-rate. It is combined with NanoEdge technology, to offer 81 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Along with this, the display offers 178-degree viewing angles and features USI 1.0 support, which means it is compatible with a stretch of stylus pens. Chromebook Flip CM5 is powered with AMD Ryzen processor in two variants, which means you can choose between AMD Ryzen 3 3250C and AMD Ryzen 5 3500C processors. To make it even more amazing, Asus has packed the device with AMD Radeon Graphics.
For faster performance, Chromebook Flip CM5 has 16GB DDR4 RAM, with three different storage options including 64GB eMMC storage or M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD of either 128GB or 256GB. So, you can choose one depending on your needs.
The device is said to come with a backlit chiclet keyboard that has 1.4mm of key travel, specially designed for gamers to boost their gaming experience. Moreover, it comes with a 720p HD front camera for HD video calling.
Other features include Harman/ Kardon audio along with dual stereo speakers, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with Display Port & Power Delivery, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A & and an HDMI 1.4 port. Further connectivity features include Bluetooth v5.0 and Wi-Fi 6.
The company has packed the device with 57Wh battery, with 10 hours of usage on a single charge as per company’s claim. It measures 357.6×240.8×18.5mm in dimensions and weighs 1.95 kilograms.
Similar to its predecessors models of Chromebook, Asus Chromebook Flip CM5 comes with preloaded Google Play access for downloading Android apps and games. And it also comes with Google Stadia and GeForce Now support, to amaze users with real-time gaming experience.
The device is built with an aluminium-alloy metal lid chassis, with added “obsidian velvet” texture, and an ergonomic keyboard. By ergonomic we mean, you can lift or tilt the keyboard, as you like.
Flip CM5 Price:
It is valued at $499 (starting price), which is equal to Rs. 36,600, for the vanilla variant featuring AMD Ryzen 3 processor and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. As of now, it is available in the US for purchase, in mono colour variant i.e., GREY.
The company, Asus, is expected to share the details regarding its price & availability for other countries in the coming days.
