Apple is expected to launch a revamped iPad Mini 6 with smaller bezels & no home button. With new design, iPad Mini 6 will be the first updated version of a smaller sized tablet since Apple launched iPad Mini 5 in 2019.
Earlier there were few rumours suggesting iPad Mini 6 launch might take place during the Spring-loaded event on April 20. However, that didn’t happen, and now reports one again suggest that iPad Mini 6 may launch in September 2021, along with iPhone 13 series.
A report from Jon Prosser explained that “The updated iPad Mini is planned to have narrower screen borders while the removal of its home button has also been tested,”. With this we can say that iPad Mini 6 is going to be the smallest tablet made by Apple so far. We believe that the upcoming iPad Mini 6 might share its design with iPad Air 4 and the iPad Pro.
Moving on to specifications, the minimal bezel design in iPad Mini 6 will ultimately increase screen-to-body ratio, without actually increasing overall dimensions of the device. In fact there is a possibility the new iPad mini 6 will be almost identical in size with its predecessor iPad Mini 5.
We might see a micro difference of about 3 mm in height & weight, but the thickness will remain the same, i.e., 206.3 x 137.8 x 6.1 mm overall dimension.
Moreover, iPad Mini 6, it is expected to feature an 8.5 or a 9-inch display, which is an upgrade compared to the 7.9-inch on the current-gen iPad mini 5. iPad Mini 6 could be powered by an A14 Bionic chipset or the new M1 chipset, currently used in iPad Pro.
It is suggested that, iPad Mini 6 could pack 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/256GB storage options and a mini LED screen. Talking about optics, the iPad mini 6 might feature an 8-megapixel rear shooter, with a 7-megapixel punch-hole shooter for selfies.
Reports suggest that there could be an on-display fingerprint sensor or it could be mounted sideways, since there will be no home button; but we don’t know which one it is going to be. Plus, iPad Mini 6 is expected to come with second-gen Apple pencil support for effortless work.
If we are lucky enough, then iPad Mini 6 might get stereo speakers and 5G network connectivity support. Promptly there were some reports that suggested images of an iPad Mini 6, however they were only dummy images generated based on a blend of schematics, and other renders.
As for its launch date, the iPad Mini 6 was not introduced in the Spring-Loaded event, held in April 2021. We are hoping that the iPad Mini 6 might make its way this time in September, along with the launch of iPhone 13 series.
Talking about its price, we predict the iPad mini 6 might be priced at 39,900 INR.
Not to forget that all these are just early renders, so we would say take all this information with a grain of salt, as Apple has not made an official statement yet.
