Apple has finally launched the most awaited iOS 15 at its annual tech event WWDC 2021 yesterday. Currently only the developer beta version has been made available but the software will be rolled out officially in September this year. In this article we will take a look at all the new features that have been released with the launch of the new iOS 15.
The new software update will boost the security, privacy, on-device neutral networks and productivity of the iPhones as per the company. The devices that support this new software are namely iPhone 12 Series, iPhone 11 Series, iPhone XS Series, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, iPhone SE (1st gen), iPhone SE (2nd gen) and iPod touch (7th gen.)
All these devices are the same devices that are also compatible with the iOS 14 as well. According to several reports, the new software update will be initially available for iPhone 6s and iPhone SE and later it will be rolled out for other models as well. Support for Hindi language is yet another feature that has been released which will be available for the iOS Quickpath swipe keyboard.
Users can download the iOS 15 developer beta version by visiting betaprofiles.com and clicking on ‘Install Profile’ button. Then they will have to navigate to the ‘Settings’ and install the software only after they agree to the terms and conditions set by the company. Though it is advised that users must be careful before installing the new update as bricking issues may occur as only the developer beta version is available currently.
Another major announcement is the update in iMessage and FaceTime features with growing emphasis on improving the privacy and communication related experiences and users can leverage spatial audio now according to the company which will allow the users to experience FaceTime calls as if they are sitting next to the person in the same room.
Also users will now be allowed to see all the participants in the face time call as in a grid form and a new blur feature has been introduced as well which will blur the background of the participants so that the main center of attention is only the person who is participating. iMessage has also been updated with many features similar to that of WhatsApp. Some of them are- top screen taps to chat instantly and check media files later, new search optimization to quickly search for media in past conversations, pinning the messages etc.
Other notable features on the new iOS 15 are the notification feature, live text feature for easy detection and extraction of information from images, photo memories feature to capture, filter, edit images and videos, new photo search feature for easier reference, Apple wallet feature to easily unlock and access personal items like cars without opening the iPhone, Apple Maps for exploring the globe and weather app for all weather related forecasts.
