All we need to know about Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro leaks

With Google I/O 2021 commencing tomorrow, there are speculations that Google will reveal Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro at the event given that hardware products like Google Pixel 5a and Google Pixel Buds A are set to be launched at the event. Furthermore, many details about both the phones are out to the world through leaks. Here we discuss the details about features and specifications of the phones as well as about the shift that Google is trying to take by changing the design specifications from its traditional approach.

The most striking detail that has been revealed in a recent leak about the Google Pixel 6 series is that it sports a completely different design as compared to other Google Pixel series phones. Google is definitely trying to make a change, departing from what the previous Pixel phones were known for – a square camera bump and a plain back which makes Google Pixel 6 series stand out from the rest of Pixel phones namely –  the Pixel 4, 4XL, 4a, 4a 5G, 5 and 5a.

Courtesy of the leaks, we have details that the Google Pixel 6 series will be featuring a smaller punch-hole cut-out for the selfie camera than the rest of the Pixel phones. It has been revealed that Google Pixel 6 Pro will sport a triple rear camera setup which happens to be the first instance of this feature being implemented by Google in a Pixel phone. Though, Google Pixel 6 will feature the dual rear cameras as expected.  One of the leaks has given a hint that one between the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will feature a periscope lens while the other will probably feature flicker lens.

Another leak renders new information regarding the processor used in the phones. There are speculations that both of the upcoming phones, Google Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro will be equipped with the new mobile processor developed by Google that has been code-named as ‘Whitechapel’. Also a new leak suggests that both Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro will have an in-display fingerprint for authentication.

Google Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro will probably have an octa-core ARM CPU with two Cortex-A78 plus two Cortex-A76 and four Cortex-A55 cores which will be coupled with ARM Mali GPU and be fabricated on Samsung’s 5nm manufacturing process. Also they will feature 120Hz high refresh rate OLED displays which are seen in other Android smartphones.
